York, Arch
Mr. York was recorded as a member of the Calgary Odd Fellows
Lodge in 1886.
Youmans, James A.
James Youmans was the principal of the McDougall Orphanage in
1887. The orphanage was intended to be a hospital on the Mission
site at Morley. An annual grant of $700.00 was obtained and twenty
children attended in 1886.

Young, James
James Young with his wife Lily, came to the Calgary area on
Nov. 15th, 1886 along with other members (William James) of the
family. They had five children. They brought with them, on the
train, all their household articles such as furniture, utensils,
and in addition - farm machinery, tools and livestock. The two
families moved their belonging to new homes in the Springbank
district. The balance of the story relates to the fortunes of
the children. 91 words.

Robert Young, born in Hamilton, Ontario, came west to the Okotoks
area in 1883 and settled on Sheep Creek. He farmed until the early
1930's when he rented his land, but continued to live in his home.
He did not marry. He lost his hands in an 1898 blizzard, and his
life in a 1936 blizzard.

Young, Zina
Zina Young was the daughter of Brigham Young. and married Charles
Card in 1884. She came to Alberta 1889 with her husband. She used
money from her fathers estate to found many early Cardston projects
such as, church buildings, a two storey high school and a cheese
factory.
Yuill
Mr. Yuill came to Medicine Hat in 1885 and operated a contracting
business.
